Hi to everyone,
I have been a member for a few days now and this is my first post (hopefully of many to come). About me: I am a student still in school, will be graduating later this year and I am glad I found SS. After having read a few threads I have a greater understanding of how little I know, not that I ever had doubts that I knew a lot ![]() At times its overwhelming for a newbie like me to make a post for I feel I know so little. But I know I am on the right track and hopefully soon will be not just "lurking" but contributing in my own little way. I would also like to say thank you for the The Culture of SomaSimple I like it. Lastly, is it normal that it takes me a while to go through all the information and links etc on a single discussion like Going Barefoot ? - Vavi Last edited by vavi; 27-03-2011 at 03:07 AM. Hi Vavi!
Welcome to the forum. Gee, there are a lot of things you could talk about or ask about. What kinds of interests do you have that you would like to develop? What part of the world are you in, or from? Yes, it's normal to get lost in the threads. Don't worry! Most of them end up long and meandering. After awhile you will be able to stay caught up.

Well keep reading and posting. Tell us how it's going. Exams I suppose? Do you do an internship anywhere? Many manual therapists here and we all are interested in figuring out the central mechanisms.

Welcome Vavi!
We have several students and recent grads here who have added immeasurably to the conversations. So, I wouldn't be too concerned about your lack of formal knowledge. Some of us who've been out here a while have to really work at it to avoid the sclerification of ideas and motivation that sometimes comes with the grind of making a living. It is always interesting and often invigorating to hear from the young (and not so young) students and new PTs. I always wish there were more of you, and now I've had a wish come true today.

Welcome Vavi.
You meant PT school? Any reason why you haven't said where? |

Welcome, Vavi don't think of it as getting lost in the threads, think of it has weaving together the thought process.
No poets died in coming up with that line. Geralyn |

Ah, Midwest U. I understand they have a great fencing team.
I find it interesting that you seem to see some sort of distinction between the manual care and the central mechanism. I have come to understand the former as a function of the latter. |
