Videotaping in Dallas

At the end of June I’ll be traveling to Dallas to videotape a workshop produced by HomeCEU.

At this point I’m focused on preparing my slides and gathering materials to quote, interpret and provide. What they want in addition are a course name, objectives and questions after each section.

I can do this myself and have many times in the past but never before have I had the kind of help and insight that is provided by Soma Simple.

Any ideas?

I liked your past title of "Simplifying Manual Care" with the tag line - "When the primary complaint is pain, the treatment of pain should be primary."

I agree with Kory's suggestion.
Everything else unfurls from that. It should be on the basic flag of the interactor HPSGs.

I think both are inherent to my message no matter how I give it.

As I've said, pain's presence is more a mystery than a puzzle in that a puzzle may be solved and the answer is often mundane though hidden. A mystery may always remain unsolved in some sense and we may have to concede that various factors contributing to its presence will forever remain hidden both from sight and importance.

I really like Kory's suggestion, but somehow I feel the need for the word "science" of "scientific" in either the title or the tag-line - even though it may sound a bit boring...

Even though I regrettably have never attended one of your courses I assume it is such a basic and important element in your teaching that it should be emphasized.

On Thursday June 28th I'm flying to Dallas for two days of videotaping. I've been preparing daily and have completed the Power Point and the questions for each hour.

I'll admit it publicly, I'm scared to death.

Hey Barrett!

One of my buddies in the coaching world uses an expression that I think has application to what you're going to be presenting.

"It doesn't work that way..."

The line is similar to something you said during one of your previous seminars that we saw here on SS. You were tallking about controlled movements, and somebody near the front of the room began moving his head pretty aggressively.

I wasn't sure whether you were mildly annoyed or surprised or pissed that some in the group apparently weren't getting it.

Either way, your response was classic:

"That ain't it...."

I remember this distinctly. Immediately after experiencing ideomotion the person in the class began "mimicking" it with a force and speed and willfulness that truly did anger me. If anyone watching thought that this is all it took to generate the characteristics of correction they would have been wrong - and I wasn't going to be a part of that.

I figured you were pissed. Every so often we have those great lines that are captured by others, revealing our spontaneous passion when somebody is screwing up what is important to us.

At my recent retirement dinner, one of the guys I coached back in 1981 showed up. We spent an enjoyable evening with him recalling several of my own "that ain't it" moments.
