We are creating a context in which the parasympathetic nerve system can restore balance. We are presenting new information to the brain to allow for a change in perspective, that unlocks the pain experience and allows other options to be considered.

I would say this:

We reduce threat in a variety of ways, all of them contributing to the context.

We redistribute blood flow by encouraging movement that doesn't enhance the already-present mechanical deformation, teaching others how to breathe and doing what we can to alter the expression of sympathetic fireing.

We provide respite from mechanical deformation by catalyzing ideomotion.
