I am not a PT, just a damn good MT, but I know many PTs in the Minneapolis area. Please PM me with information about your client and what kind of care you think they need. I will try to help you find the right PT.

I was wondering can we have a subforum where we list all the physios or members here by the state or location? This will a lot of help for people to refer clients.
I have a lot of clients who need a good physio. What do you think Diane or Barrett? |

I don't mind the idea. I think it's sort of a good idea, actually.
In Canada I help maintain an online Pain Physio directory, completely voluntary, and completely public, which can be accessed by patients who want to have a physio with a special interest or talent in treating pain. They have to be a member of PSD; we don't advertise their alphabet soup of manual therapy distinctions, or how many acupuncture certs they may have obtained, only their academic degrees. If they happen to have obtained a certification in pain management, we relent and will post that. I can see something like that evolving for SomaSimple. Someone else would have to do it, though. I have my hands a bit full, and they are tiny hands to begin with.

I can see Diane's point. In my experience in the US all sorts of practitioners would want to be on this list and then we face the problem of choosing - and who will choose the choosers?
In my mind, I'm not bad, but I know I'm exactly the wrong sort for some patients in pain. I'd feel for the person(s) who recommended me in such an instance. |

But if it were a SomaSimple directory, that would be different. It would be a directory of SomaSimplers. We would choose those already vetted by the board. Isn't that Anoop's idea?

Just being able to see what state/province/country/city/whatever an SSer is from would be helpful. If there was a way to search member profiles by location, that would be good enough for most inquiries. It would at least help us figure out who to contact directly for local assistance finding someone/something, without having to create a new administrative nightmare.
