Assuming the latter and / or your willingness to make that happen this time, very quick intro to me - Arne Heayn PT ABOS [a buncha other stuff] PT since 1971 [did all the Canadian manipulation courses by about 1978], explored acupuncture since late '70's then did extensive course but not exam in latter 80's early 90's, CranioSacral Therapy since 1985, Visceral Manipulation since 1987, NLP certified about 1991, Feldenkrais certified 1996, certified Authorized Sounder Sleep Instructor since 2002, Buteyko Breathing Educator certified since 2003. Guest speaking gigs at therapy assistant and holistic therapist schools and conferences, North American Feldenkrais Conference and Canadian Physiotherapy Association conference. Retired from clinical practice and sold clinic a year ago. Have taught several one-day workshops to mostly PT's since then, with mostly good reviews, and would like to do more teaching / speaking 'for fun and profit' and / or to meet more interesting people to bounce ideas off of, maybe over a good beer in an interesting place. I live half an hour from an international airport with good connections almost everywhere. Thanks again for the invite, Barrett and I'm looking forward to learning how to use this forum. Arne |

Hi Diane,
Ahh, good old neuroscience...neuro-stuff drove me nuts in PT school - it kept changing! and I never did feel like I had a good handle on it, though I think I got near the highest marks in the class. Then I realized that the joints and muscles and skin did not have a clue unless they asked the brain, and vice versa - and spent a weekend in Winnipeg listening to Barry WYke - and became a Feldenkrais Practitioner [Feldenkrais is applied / directed / practical neural plasticity] and read and listened to the NOI guys a bit...still wouldn't pretend to understand it, but I know it's out there [and in there] and important. If you're at Congress flag me down - I'm doing two presentations - one Saturday on 'Eucapnic Breathing as a Pain Management Tool' and Sunday on 'Sounder Sleep to Unravel the Insomnia / Pain Cycle' - I'll look a bit like the guy on the members list. Thanks for the hello Arne |
