Default Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Seminar for Chronic Pain

It looks like the CIRPD is hosting a regular series of webinars surrounding Chronic Pain.

In this one:
Quote:
Linda Turner speaks about Mindfulness Based Stress Relief's ability to improve overall wellness as well as to help in managing chronic pain. She leads two live mindfulness exercises which are practical tools you can add to your pain management practice.

I found the webinar to be OK. Neil Pearson's was definitely much more informative. I do think there is some value to mindfulness but getting past the initial roadblock of pain in order to begin this kind of practice is formidable. I also think that time may be better spent with a focus on Mindful Movement instead of Seated Meditation.

Hope someone enjoys this.

Byron, on some thread or other we talked about Kabat-Zinn, research in general into meditation for pain. Perhaps you will find this of interest: Brain Mechanisms Supporting the Modulation of Pain by Mindfulness Meditation
